So often in life we see with our souls what it is that we want, but we want to wait for it to find us rather than do waht we must to make it become our reality. Stop being so damned lazy and start making your dreams your reality!
No one I know likes housework. I hate doing housework, but I am loathe to live in filth, dirt, grime, and I am not one who hangs onto things for sentimental reasons. If I do, said thing needs to have some sort of power in my life, some sort of magic to it, the k…

Feelings of tumult cause us to sometimes go into panic mode. When we feel like we are not in control of a situation we tend to believe that the whole world is falling apart and our emotions end up frazzled, causing us to eventually end up physically ill. We can stop this madness if we just remember the reason why we care enough to almost lose our collective minds.
I could sit here and remind us all just how crappy these past two years have been for a majority of people living and breathi…

The times are not just a-changin' - they are reinventing the way that things are done!
You are unfocused. Things that seem to be unreal are more real to you now because things that you do not understand are happening in your life and the loves of those you love. You have lost your job, your house, everything but your heart and your hope. People you were once close with are now drifting away from you. Even with all these trials, still you know within your heart and soul that the reason th…

We all have fears, all of us. Some people mask their fears as bravado, while others end up in deadly physical situations or poor health because of their fears. It takes nothing to be afraid and a whole lot to be not afraid. Learning to deal with those fears is tantamount in being able to reach our goals.
If you have never seen an episode of "
The Family Guy,", then you will not know what I am talking about when I te…

In my pursuit of a lifelong goal to meld together the healing properties of both creativity and medicine, I have found solace in the idea that we are all healers, even if only unto our selves.
I make it absolutely no secret that I am in pursuit of a Doctoral degree in Psychology. It is often said the best healers are those who can be like that of Chiron, the wounded healer, and I presume that it is so because who better to help heal than those who have been hurt themselves? I have also m…

Times are tedious right now. People are out of work. Families are being forced apart for one reason or another. Homes are being lost at a pace not seen since the Great Depression. Life, in short, seems to suck right now. As silly and even psychotic as it might seem, now is the most opportune time for us to reveal the depth of our souls and the measure of our character.
I make light of all the things happening in my own personal life right now because already there has been too much grief…

No matter your life circumstance at the moment, good or bad, embracing Now is the most healing thing we can do.
I was on the phone yesterday with a very good, very old friend of mine who, without realizing it, gave me some insight to what I already knew and have known for quite some time. We can all prepare for things to go horribly wrong, and we can all prepare and anticipate for things to go really, really well. Yet this alone is not giving enough credence to one very important factor…

I am intrigued and appauled by the callous nature many people have in regards to those who beg people for money in public places.
I thought this morning I would be writing about something other than the very callous nature a lot of people have toward those who beg for money in parking lots. I was raised "in the church" and raised in a traditional Hawaiian family which never ceased to help those who needed it. When I was a kid I did not realize that the definition of those who needed help…

More than one of us is going through a lot right now. As long as we all remember that there is something inherently special and totally unique about right this moment, we will all be fine in the long run. There is nothing worse than feeling like there is nothing to celebrate about. Yet, in this life, we have to find something to celebrate.
We can all sit here, comfortable in the idea that more often than not we hear the celebration in being who we are, and we are cheered on to do what it…

Whether we like it or not, the uncomfortable things that we go through on a day to day basis are the things we have to go through - those things are the things which Divine Manifestation is made of.
I make no secret of the trials which are my life right now. At one point in time, in fact, right around this time last year, I was in the middle of a hell which was only partially my making. No matter what has happened since then, though, one thing that I know is absolutely and positively tru…

Adveristy, even as it is probably the one thing in this life that we absolutely share as human creatures, is a lesson for us all.
I think of my life right now in terms of it being akin to a required class for graduation. We are all meant to be something to someone else, no matter what that something is. Times call that evermore we need to learn to lean on one another for strength. At times we may come off as brusque or just plain old not likeable. Times that call for understanding and Lo…

Becoming Infinte is nothing short of miraculous, but it takes a lot to get there and it isn't an easy process.
I wanted to take something a little more in line with my line of thinking this term in my online college program for Psychology. I remember almost begging my academic adviser to please sign me up for something that would compensate for the inane and bleach-white boring nature of Statistics. (I am SO not a mathematician). I asked her to give me something that would stretch my min…

I am in the middle of a long, drawn out spiritual lesson, and though I might complain a lot through it all, the truth is that at the end of it I will be stronger, wiser and one step closer to being my Authentic Self than I was before my world seemed to crumble around me.
My lessons started back in 2007. I started drawing deeper into spirituality when I came home from what was a lousy vacation in Hawaii in June of 2007. My learning began soon after the plane landed. I did not think that t…

Ever felt like somehow God forgot that you were part of the world and that it was never fun that you go through what you go through?
It was never meant that we were supposed to suffer without learning something about that suffering we went through. Hello, I am the Black Sheep of my extended family. And it's OK, because somebody has to do it. Why not me?
Why not you?
As Black Sheep we are prone to accepting our fate as the ones who go through it all, and by this I mean that we go throug…

When thinking about the life lessons we are taught, we try to block out those painful things we are going through and replace them with things that are a bit more comforting to think about. What we are not realizing is that the trials we go through and keep on going through are the lessons that we are supposed to be learning.
If there is one thing that I know a lot about, it is adversity.
Adversity is a strange thing. We hate it when it visits us, but the minute that an applicable event…

The world is chock full of unhappy people who have a lot of money. It is very possible to be rich and unhappy, and it all boils down to knowing what you are supposed to be doing with your life versus what it is that you are doing for your bank account. Though there is nary a soul who will not equate being rich with being happy, there is a fine line between being who you are and being who you think you are just because the money is good.
How many times have you looked at a picture of some…

Over the course of time we learn things about ourselves through others. Though it is painful, we all grow out of relationships, and sometimes this does not mean that we grow out of them and abandon them, but that we grow out of what they have grown into. It is up to us to step back and take a long look at what was important and what has become important to us and how those things can help us understand the deeper meaning of the thing that happened to us and to our loved ones.
It was neve…

The news was very hard on everyone. We’d seen much come and go…mostly go, but this time was rough. The pain is real. The loss is huge.
I have not cried this much in many years, and perhaps the tears were more to quell the aching in my own soul, and the aching that was and is felt not only in Silver Lakes, not only in Oro Grande, not only in Hesperia, but little by little, everywhere. Our soul’s pinings are the ones which reverberate throughout the space-time continuum, and it is those ti…

We are never more in touch with our own Spirit until we are told of profound loss so huge that it makes us stop and ponder the ever more finite nature of this life.
Dustin Martin was a boy whose life started out with very little hope to fuel a passion for cars, for people, for life. It is with great sorrow that I write this, another eulogy, but this time it is not for someone who was ailing, who was aged, who…

Moon Child
She sits silently beneath the full white Moon
Staring up at it as if to silently say prayers to the benevolent
Goddess Who lovingly placed the great orb in the night time sky
So that the world could imagine Her Greatness by discovering
Its own.
Moon Child, Moon Child
What is it in your heart that sees only good
As you bathe beneath the sultry light of
A Moon full and bright in a black night sky
Against a backdrop of a million and one stars
Staring at the earth as if they were…
